Yesterdays practice was pretty good. I had low scores but I was working on a ball I just had re-drilled and the 10 pin, I am also trying to play with different breaking points for the ball. Having it peak in the middle and then turn over at the end or just throwing it deep to it will turn and break at the same time, which will hit a lot harder and create more pin action.
Most of summer will be spent trying new things so I can bowl on all conditions.

ACME week 4

Somehow after only winning 4 points last week we still ended up in 3rd place. Nobody really shot very well last night. We ended up only taking 2 points, which will push us down to 8th place or so. There is still 8 weeks left so we have time to make it up. I shot extremely average- 177, 201, 169. I guess it's above my average for this league but with the shot the yhad out I should have had a 600.

series- 547
average-182

Thanks{for}giving {me a free shot}

For Thanksgiving Ross and Hollywood were both gone and I had to work till 8, so there wasn't much for me to do. I ended up walking up the street to the bar for my Thanksgiving feast. The dinner was a new twist on an old classic.

vodka cranberry = cranberry
Hamms = some kind of roll or bread
Mac and Jack = stuffing
Wild Turkey = Turkey (took 2 shots, one for dark meat and one for light)
potato vodka on the rocks = mashed potatoes
hot apple cider shot = apple pie

The last 2 were recommended by the waitress. I think Potato vodka tastes like shit. After all that I was kind of drunk...so like after any good Thanksgiving meal I went home for a nap. Overall it was pretty fun and I might have to make it a tradition...

OR

Below are the books I had signed at the Mark Z. Danielewski reading/signing tonight. First is the page in HoL the says "Muss es sein?" I showed him my tattoo with the same text and also said that I didn't get it because of HoL, but because of The Unbearable Lightness of Being. He agreed on the greatness of tULoB and drew a weird little picture on the page (whats it mean? hmmm). Next is just the signed HoL followed by OR (Hailey's side because "being Sam, I should love Hailey")

The reading was great. He read from about 5 sections on Sam's side all throughout the book. Just from the way he read and talked about it I think that people are going to try to read into it way to much. He really emphasized that HoL was driven completely by story and plot, while in OR those matter little and the focus is wholly on character. At first I was really confused with the dates and whatnot on the side, but I think that is just there to give you the setting for the time they are living in, and what is going on around them. MZD even said it was just there to help you picture the world at the time.

One good answer he had to the question of why he puts so much into his books (or something like that, but worded more pertinaciously. The reading was at the U of W book and most of the question were way to wordy. You could tell everyone wanted MZD to they were smart. You know the people I'm talking about.). He then went on to talk about how he spends so much time on these books (10 years for HoL and 6 for OR) that he doesn't want them just to fade. He thinks it would be a huge waste of his time to put all this effort into a book and then see it made into a movie. If he reads a book and can see it being a movie he wishes it was. His goal in writing a book is to give the reader an experience that they can only get from the book. He doesn't want people to be able to get the same experience from a song or movie. I totally agree and think that is what makes him such a unique author.

He was a great guy. Extremely nice and well spoken. If you live in MN I suggest you don't miss it when he's there.

Anyway...one of the better readings I've been to (top 5 at least). Next is Terry Pratchett on October 13th.

Seattle

So Seattle...
It's great so far, the city is awesome. All the people we have met are cool, it will be nice to meet more. The city has great bars and such, and we can walk to most of them. We live in an awesome area. I still need to find a job. Money is running out and I am starting to feel worthless, or at least more than usual. I have applied at a ton of places but it doesn't seem like anyone is hiring now, or just not hiring me. If I don't find something soon I'm going to have to start driving around to look. So far everything I've applied for is walking distance.
There are a ton of things I miss about back home, but so far I'm still glad I'm here.
I will be going back for Moss's wedding. I fly in Sept. 27 and am there for about a week.
Give me a call sometime. Chances are I won't be busy.
I think I might start posting here more as well as on BOB...maybe later after a few drinks...

Fireworks

I am now a fireworks sales person. Its fun to know that everything I am
selling is illegal in most states...and off the rez. We are about 100
yards from a big casino. I lost 100 yesterday playing craps. Looks
like this job will cost me a lot. Hope I come out up a little.
